Frequently Asked Questions
What waterproof grade do your marine wiring harnesses use?
Over-molded marine harnesses are built to IP67 as standard, with IP68 available – the required rating is specified on the drawing and verified during sample validation. NMEA 2000 branches use waterproof M12 connectors, molded connectors prevent water ingress, and every marine harness passes waterproofing tests, continuity checks and thermal cycling before shipment.
Are your truck telematics harnesses SAE J1939 compliant?
Yes. Cactus builds SAE J1939 Type I (9-pin Deutsch, 250 kbit/s) and Type II (500 kbit/s) harnesses, RP1226 14-pin diagnostic harnesses and J1708 cables with custom lengths, connectors and pinouts, so telematics gateways and ELD devices can read engine and vehicle data directly from the truck bus. Drawings and pinout specifications are available on request.
How do you test automotive wiring harnesses for vibration resistance?
Vibration durability is engineered in through vibration-rated materials and connectors, then verified by mechanical stress analysis, thermal-cycling endurance tests in our heat chamber, and 100% continuity and insulation-resistance testing before shipment. Customer-specified vibration test profiles can be validated during sample approval.
Which standards do your industry wiring harnesses comply with?
Production follows the IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standard. Automotive harnesses are built under our IATF 16949 certified quality system, marine harnesses follow ABYC guidelines and NMEA 2000® compatibility, and industrial and appliance harnesses are built to UL, CSA, CE, ISO and RoHS/REACH requirements as specified per project. Every harness passes 100% electrical testing before shipment.
What is your MOQ for industry-specific custom harnesses?
MOQ is confirmed per project and depends on harness complexity, materials and tooling. Prototype and small pilot batches are accepted before mass production. Contact our sales team with your drawing or sample for an exact MOQ and an itemized quotation.
What is the typical lead time for custom harnesses?
Quotations are confirmed within 2 working days, samples take 3-7 working days, and regular mass production orders take about 20-30 days, followed by air freight of 3-7 days or sea freight of 20-30 days. Rush orders are accepted when production capacity allows.
